In the on demand society we live in, I won't try to make it happen I will Let God make it happen. I will take this music ministry wherever the Lord leads me. if I can touch one soul and make him a believer I will be doing God's work. I have lived the first 50 years of my life of my own will, The rest of my days on earth I shall live and do God's will. Through the groups music ministry we will be used as vessels to deliver God message through song.

What Ministry means to me as a member of the Anointed Voices

Tina Bryant
Ministry is a life walk. Jesus showed us true ministry in the way he lived his life here on earth. It begins with you and how you share the gifts and talent God has given you to bless his powered people.

Ebony Bowens
Ministry is the way you live your life. Its all about God and the plan that he has for your life. The effectiveness that you have when you live out Gods plan that he has for your life. Ministry is a lifestyle. It is a life of fasting prayer praise and worship and Thanksgiving unto God.

Troy Marshall Sr.
Being a witness is not hard to do. It's only telling someone what God has done for you. I choose to minister through song with the gift that he's given me, in hopes to reach but one, so they can be free.

Tammie Miles
To me my music ministry is that God has blessed me to share the good news of Jesus Christ through song with the world.

Tony Saunders Jr.
I have been blessed with a voice and with an anointing with the word of God and I will sing to the non believers and the believers because that is what Jesus would have me do.

Lady Alfreda Lyons-Campbell
Music is the universal language that brings together people from every nation. Gospel music is the language that mends the broken heart, soothes weary minds and gives strength in weakness. My mission in my ministry is to prepare hearts to
receive what God has in store for his people.

Jeffrey Crawford
Ministry to me is meeting the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of others with the word of God, through the gift that God has given you wether that be preaching, teaching encouragement, singing, playing an instrument, helping, giving finances and giving of ones time.

Yolanda Herring
To minister in song the gospel of Jesus Christ and lifting up his name in praises is how i live my life. Reaching souls through-singing his word is the commission he's given to true praises. Through song's I sing it gives the ministry flavor.

Dominique Campbell
To bless others with what God has blessed me with and to help others get through their issues through my music.

Tony comes from a musical family. His world famous keyboardist dad Merl got Tony started at an early age. He sang as early as five and played piano from age 8. Herbie Hancock and Sly Stone were some of Tony’s early teachers and Sly gave Tony an organ at age 10. Tony eventually graduated from the Conservatory of Music in San Francisco. At age 14 he also started playing the bass. He received an Emmy with his dad for the children’s special “Soul Is” a PBS documentary that featured his bass along with Black poetry.
At age 18 he started playing with his dad and Jerry Garcia. Tony learned a lot from the people who taught him bass. Legendary bassist Chuck Rainey, Jack Cassidy and John Kahn all took interest in Tony’s ability. John Kahn turned Tony on to James Jamerson and Tony modeled his playing around all of his teachers. He also loves Stanley Clarke, Alphonso Johnson, Rufus Reid and Ralphe Armstrong and current favorite Marcus Miller. All of these players have influenced Tony’s style. Tony loves that he can play any style of music and has played on albums that back that up. (The enclosed list has people he has played with).

Tony has scored Movies, produced CD's scored countless corporate videos,TV shows and commercials and won 2 emmys for his music. He has continued to produce projects out of his studio. In the last year he has Produced projects that have included Mavis Staples, John Lee Hooker and Auggie Brown the nephew of Michael Jackson. Auggie's project was sold to Midas records and will be out very soon.
Tony has been influenced by Gospel Music since a young child, He learned a lot from his choir director Leon Patillo. Tony met the Hawkins family when he was 14 and credits them with not only inspiring him to play bass but with giving spiritual guidance to his life. He played with Walter, Ed and Tramaine and the Love Center choir in the 80's and has continued his Love for Gospel with the release of his first gospel project "He Lifted Me Up". While playing with the Hawkins he also got to play with gospel greats Andre Crouch, The Clarke Sisters, The late Rev James Moore, Daryl Coley, James Cleveland and the Williams Brothers just to name a few. Getting to work with Walter and Ed and seeing-the way they did music has stayed in my soul. What they shared with me will be with me forever

Tony has produced a lot of gospel music over the years and he is very proud of his new CD. It features singing greats Derrick Hughes and Alfreda Lyons-Campbell as well as Tony longtime friend and gospel's greatest bassist/ drummer extroidinare Joel Smith, Walter and Ed's Nephew. Tony says we have played together so long that the feeling that happens between us is magic sent from above.

Part Donny Hathaway, part Kirk Franklin, all soul and love, Tony Saunders invokes the nothing less than the mighty spirit Himself on "He Lifted Me Up," his first, but certainly not his last, gospel album.

-- Joel Selvin
Senior Pop Music Critic San Francisco Chronicle

This album celebrates The Love for the Lord. Tony Saunders has long been an acclaimed Bass player, Music Producer, Film and TV Composer and Community advocate for children's learning. He has always worked with gospel Artist. His love for the Lord has reached new heights with his continued devotion at church and the release of his first gospel CD "He Lifted Me Up".

Tony's credits in Gospel music are many and he points to his time with the Hawkins Family as his favorite Gospel experience. When we say the Hawkins family not only does that include Walter, Ed and Tramaine it includes touring and being around Andre Crouch, James Cleveland, The Clarke sisters and Shirley Caesar just to name a few. Tony says that although it took him a while to feel this conviction for the Lord and release this Cd he has always been deeply rooted in Gospel music.

On this Cd Tony took the Quincy Jones approach and used singers that he had always wanted to work with or he had previously produced a project involving them and formed the core of this project. Tony wrote the material with them on eight of the nine songs. Tony also used his favorite drummer Joel Smith and keyboardist Syvestor Burks. Both of them have played on The Hawkins family, Kim Burrell, Yolanda Adams, John P Kee and TD Jakes just to name a few. Tony says that he was driving from LA going home when the first song for the album came to him. The melody for He Lifted Me up came to him on that drive and the next six weeks were some of the most blessed he has had in his life. On the Cd he used:

Alfreda Lyons-Campbell
This Female vocalist was the featured vocalist on the GMWA's Experience CD where she sang the opening song. She has been singing for 25 years and works with Tony at their church where she is the Minister of Music. Her Love for Jesus is why she sings and she has opened concerts for Yolanda Adams to rave reviews. Tony has worked with her on numerous project and says the first time he heard her sing I knew she was anointed and has used her on projects ever since.

Derick Hughes
Derick has been singing since he was 8. The Lord has saved his life and done so many thing that Derick could not do on his own that he truly has been lifted up. Tony has always liked Derick's singing as they have past each other doing sessions and shows although never together until now. Derick has played with Sandra crouch, John P Kee and James Cleveland just to name a few as well as appearing in many Christian play around the states.

The Hartfield Family
Tony Has produced their last two CD's the last one being Paradise In The Valley. I love their blend and David, Bob and Chauncey have blessed many projects for Tony. The three of them work well for me in the studio and the freedom they have allowed me in producing has added so much to all the projects the have contributed to. God has taken time out and entered the studio many days as the gospel greats have broke bread, shared tears and joys and kept the Lord's work moving forward so it can be heard.

Tony has been amazed at the great reception this Cd has been receiving. I do know that he has to let the Lord have his way. This CD has a story and a testimony. God wants the world to hear it and it shall be done.
